Work Harder On Yourself Than You Do On Your Job

In order to achieve the success you want, there are some key principles that must be mastered.

In my journey of personal achievement and success, I’ve learned that there are two subjects that you must commit to working on everyday, they are…

Personal Development and Financial Education

If you were brought up similar to myself these subjects were not discussed either at home or in school. I stumbled upon them in my desire to escape from an employment situation that I just couldn’t take anymore.

The exciting part is that almost immediately after learning about these subjects, I was able to begin making huge improvements in my life, both personally and professionally.

I am going to share the most impactful things I’ve learned to help you get started or continue this exciting journey.

One of the first things I learned was from my fantastic mentor Jim Rohn. In an audio program I listened to he shared an idea that totally rocked my world and that idea was…

Work harder on yourself than you do on your job” Jim Rohn

He said that “if you work hard on your job you can make a living,  which is fine, but if you work hard on yourself you could make a fortune, which is SUPER FINE

Up until that moment I had never heard anything like that before. And after I thought about what he was saying, it changed my life forever.

I encourage you to think about this idea and see how it makes you feel. Does it immediately make you say “no way” or “I can’t do that” or “that doesn’t even make any sense”

I get it I did too, but once I gave myself permission to ask the question, “how could I work on myself?” everything started to change. I found the books, the audio programs, the seminars etc. that showed me a new way to look at life. I hope the same for you.

Until next time…

In order for things to change, you have to change

Many years ago I used to believe and blame the problems I was experiencing in my life on things going on “Out There” The world outside of my control.

  • My job/My boss

  • My financial situation

  • The traffic

  • My family

  • The government

  • My neighbors

  • Etc.

“In order for things to change for you, you have to change” Jim Rohn

Which means that in order for your outside world to change into what you desire you must first take personal responsibility for how you think, how you feel, what you believe, how you respond, your attitude, your gratitude, and abundant thinking versus lack thinking.

Your outside world is a direct reflection of what’s going on inside of you.

The good news is that you have complete control over what’s going on inside of you. Taking control might make you uncomfortable at first, but it’s the first step in the process of correcting your current circumstances that you want to change. Once you take control of your inside world, your outside world begins to get better.

So I encourage you today to begin paying close attention to how you are responding to your outside world. Stop blaming your current circumstances on things “out there” and realize that you have the power at any time to make a different choice which will then produce a different result. It all starts inside of you.

Try to…

Greet others with a smile, offer a word of encouragement, hold the door for someone, thank someone for their help, tell someone you care about how much you love and care for them, be grateful for all of the things you do have, seek ways to give to others rather than take, turn off the negative media and focus on something positive, begin to develop a new skill, mentor someone else in something you know how to do, find the beauty in your current environment rather the ugly. It all starts inside of you.

“In order for things to change for you, you have to change”

Indecision Is The Thief Of Opportunity

After studying the greatest high achievers in our society both past and present, I discovered a habit that they each had and applied to their lives consistently.

That habit goes along with the quote by Jim Rohn..

“Indecision is the thief of opportunity”

I learned that successful people make decisions quickly and change them very slowly. They have preset filters that they run each opportunity through, when the opportunity checks off more YES boxes, they quickly make a decision and move forward. The exact opposite is true if the opportunity checks off more NO’s.

Another key to this is that successful people know that to achieve more they have to fail quickly and fail often and the faster they are at going through this process, the better their chances are at achieving the results they are looking for.

So decide today that you are going to begin making decisions faster. Think through your goals and decide what your list of hard YES’s or NO’s are so you can eliminate doubt or worry in the process. Don’t let indecision keep you from taking advantage of the opportunities that are all around you today.

Thank you for your time today!

Until next time

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments

If you’re anything like me you have goals that you want to achieve. Why is it that some people have the ability to seamingly move from one successful goal to another?

The answer can be found in this quote by Jim Rohn

“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment”

In order to achieve any goal you have to have the discipline to do the things you need to do even when you don’t want to do them.

The ability to hold yourself accountable to keep moving forward is going to be critical for you to achieve the goal you want.

You have to get so emotionally tied to your goal that it makes you do the things you know you should be doing everyday.

So where are you with your discipline? Do you find yourself struggling to stay focused and moving forward? Do you start out great only to fall off as the desire begins to fall off?

If so, you're not alone, when you lose your discipline don't beat yourself up just get started again. Rebuild the momentum and begin again. You can do it!

Here's another great Jim Rohn nugget of wisdom…

"The pain of discipline weighs ounces and the pain of regret weighs TONS"

Thank you for your time today!

Until next time

Inflation may not be what you think it is

We’ve been brought up to believe certain things in our life and one of those things is the meaning of Inflation. In this short video, I’m going to show you that the way you currently think about Inflation may not be exactly accurate.

Once you begin to wrap your head around Inflation and its true meaning, you can start to make better decisions in terms of your finances.

Having the things you desire starts with financial education.

The Day Robert Kiyosaki changed my life forever

Early in my journey to become financially free I was going about it all wrong. I didn’t know that there was a better way that actually would accelerate the process.

At a Real Estate Guys event in April 2018 my mentor Robert Kiyosaki shared something that forever changed the direction of my life.

My hope is that you find value in the story and that maybe it could be the idea you need to positively change your life.

I look forward to connecting with you soon!

The Boiling Frog Syndrome

The boiling frog is an analogy describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is often used as a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to or be aware of sinister threats that arise gradually rather than suddenly.

In this story, you are the frog and the pot of water represents the amount of inflation (Devaluation of the Dollar) that is going on around you. Today, more and more people are talking about inflation because the heat has been turned up high enough for you to notice. The truth is that inflation (the value of the dollar decreasing)  has been going on ever since the Federal Reserve was created back in 1913.

In that amount of time the dollar has lost over 98% of its value (purchasing power).

Is the value of the Dollar going lower? If history tells us anything I would say yes. The current Fiat Currency financial system we operate under today requires Debt (creation of Dollars) to always be increasing. As I discussed last week, the creation of more dollars in circulation chasing fewer goods available (supply shock) has created higher consumer price (Inflation).

You see, inflation has been going on for decades and it’s only now you are beginning to feel its effects. The good news is that there are ways to begin taking control of your investments and use inflation to your advantage rather than be boiled to death by it.

However, that requires you to begin thinking differently; to begin taking control over how you think (Self Education) and your investments (Financial Education). Realizing that the old stories and programming we have all been brought up to believe are not exactly true.

Our current financial and education system is not set up for us to win in today’s environment. The name of the game is Control and you have to get Control of your mind (how you think) and your finances (how you make/earn money and invest) as soon as you can before the water gets to more of a boil.

It starts with Proper Education, and with that you can start making decisions that could totally change how inflation affects you and your family.
